Barter Business Network Sdn Bhd (BBN), Malaysia Premier Barter Trade Exchange would like to expand their businesses nationwide. They would also like to setup an online marketplace for their members to buy, sell and list their products and services online.

They used a traditional PC base applications to run their business. When their businesses started to expand, the system becomes very slow and unstable to handle the high volume of transactions. Furthermore, with their original PC base application, there is no way for them to expand to other areas in an efficient and cost effective ways.

Platronix has developed two E-business application suites to fulfill BBN's needs, namely:

An E-marketplace (For Public and Member Access), and Back Office Suites for Trade Exchange. (Private Access)

Platronix provides BBN's members an e-commerce solution to barter. Through www.asiaBarterZone.com, BBN's members and the public can see and search for products and services that are listed in the site. BBN's members can log in with their Trade Account Number and Password to access into Member's Corner, which allows them to buy, sell, upload and manage their products online.

The Browser-based Back Office Suites allows BBN to "micro manage" their branches and franchises by leveraging the Internet technology. The company could now have decentralized operations within a centralized infrastructure. (Other area locations/offices could be able to access the central database via an Internet-ready computers) as compared to their previous PC-based system where software is very resident-based.

Both systems are integrated seamlessly. Both of the E-Business applications suites are designed using Microsoft Technologies. The system is now running on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft Commerce Server 3.0 with Customized COM Objects. An Interactive Voice Response System is also developed using Microsoft Web Telephony Engine to allow the Trade Exchange to have 24x7 transactions through the phone
