Vantage Minimum Recommended Hardware

To get the best performance from your Vantage software, Epicor recommends the following hardware components*. Please keep in mind that the minimum requirements are listed to run the software and following the recommendations will increase the overall performance of your system. Also, minimum requirements assume that Vantage will be running with minimum additional activity on your network. The addition of other applications will affect system performance and must be taken into account when choosing hardware.

Standalone PC

• Intel Pentium III processor, 1.0 GHz or higher. Minimum requirement. Intel Pentium III processor, 600 MHz.
• Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional
• 512 MB RAM
• SVGA or higher adapter w/ color SVGA monitor (800 X 600 resolution or higher)
• 1GB free disk space
• CD-ROM drive (required)
• Internet connection recommended for online support and downloading latest updates

Note: Standalone PC recommended hardware is based on choosing Progress RDBMS as your database server.

Network Server

• Network Operating System (one of the following):Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.0, Linux version 7, Linux version 8.
• Intel Pentium III dual processor, 1GHz or higher. Minimum requirement Intel Pentium III single processor, 1 GHz.
• 1 GB RAM
• 3 GB free disk space. Vantage and Progress will occupy 800 MB.
• 10,000 RPM SCSI Drives
• SVGA or higher adapter w/ color SVGA monitor. 1024 X 768 monitor resolution. Minimum requirement 800X600 resolution.
• CD-ROM drive (required)

Network Workstation

• Intel Pentium III processor, 500 MHz or higher. Minimum requirement. Intel Pentium processor, 400 MHz.
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Professional.
• 256 Mb RAM. Minimum requirement 128 Mb RAM.
• 30 Mb free disk space.
• SVGA or higher adapter w/ color SVGA monitor. 1024 X 768 monitor resolution is recommended. Minimum requirement, 800X600 resolution
• CD-ROM drive (if not on server)
• Internet connection recommended for online support and downloading latest updates

Database Server

• Progress RDBMS database comes standard with Vantage installations.
• SQL Server 2000 database is supported.

Communications

• Modem required to access Vantage Online Support Center for interim and commercial releases and remote support.
• DSL or higher quality connection recommended. 56K modem is the minimum requirement.
• Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher are needed for VantageHelp.

Printer

• At least one laser printer required for standard reports
• Narrow carriage, dot matrix optional for multi-part forms and checks
• Must have current Windows drivers

Tape Drive Backup Equipment

• Epicor recommends your company invest in a reliable backup system. Your hardware vendor can recommend and install one for you.

Network Hardware Recommendations

• A 100mbps network is recommended
• Fiber optic cable recommended in environment with electrical noise.
