Software Architecture

Platronix E-Marketplace and Back Office Suites are designed using Microsoft Technologies. The system is now running on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Customized COM Objects.

Both Platronix E-Marketplace and Back Office Suites use a true multi-tier Internet/Intranet architecture that is extensible and highly scalable. The system is capable of supporting parallel servers to distribute the services to a broad network of users, customers and partners.

Platronix E-Marketplace and Back Office Suites are designed under the following architecture:

Application Tier

The application tier is composed of the Active Server Pages (ASP) running on Microsoft Internet Information Server that integrates with the Customized COM Objects to communicate with the database tier.

Database Tier

The database ties sits behind the application tier. The database server does not interact directly with the end-users to prevent any potential security issues from arising.

Client Tier

The client tier contains the clients connected via Internet to Platronix E-Marketplace and Back Office Suites. Using a web browser, users can securely access to the system with their assigned user id and password.
