Why choose Platronix for your training needs

Hands On Training

As a computer professional you need to develop true competence in new skills, not just receive an overview of syntax and techniques. Furthermore, you need to gain these skills quickly to minimize time away from your regular production duties. Structured programs that employ hands on practice are the only way to effectively and quickly develop competence in new technical skills. And studies show that hands on practice significantly increases retention of new material. Hands on exercises also provide direct feedback for the instructor to monitor each student's progress directly. They ensure that individual attention is provided as necessary. That's why all of our programming and system administration classes employ hands on practice for at least 50% of the time in class. Your experience directly applying new skills directly leads to clarity, confidence, and competence.

Instructional Quality

PLATRONIX knows that professionals want to learn from professionals. Our instructors are not new to the training, nor are they new to the industrial training environment. Our management understands that you don't throw an instructor unfamiliar with a technology at a class just to "preserve the deal." PLATRONIX upper management has been in the computer training industry since 1986 ; we have the contacts, the know how, and the commitment to provide excellent instruction every time. We take great care in matching the trainers ability to the courses that they are going to conduct. Platronix put a lot of emphasis in getting the right trainers for the job.

Course Content

Our courses are task-based and skill-based. They are not simply product-based or certification-based. That means you come out knowing how to do something, and not just theoretically! Our courses go well beyond normal certification tracks. For example, our Microsoft Windows 2000 Administration course covers all the material you'd find in an 8-day sequence from most certified vendors. Our Java classes and Web Developer classes cover server-side as well as client-side issues, allowing you to undertake development of distributed systems even after just one course week.

How do we do it? There are many factors that go into optimizing course content, but here are a few of the most important. Firstly, we don't try to be all things to all people. We are not trying to teach entry level courses for people just entering the computer field. Our classes are designed for practicing computer professionals. And we keep our classes small. The hands on exercises are very carefully structured and worked out to maximize learning. You should not be typing in or figuring out mundane or irrelevant content. Nor should the labs be trivial; complex topics require demanding labs. Many training providers forget this. So their labs don't get you to the point where you can fully apply the technology you're learning. They may reinforce bits and pieces - but that's not good enough! They've got to demonstrate that you can implement an application or manage your system!

Small Class Size

One of the primary determinants of the success of instructor-led training classes [besides the competency of the instructor] is the accessibility students have to ask questions, get help when they need it, and receive appropriate guidance. Our open enrollment classes average less than 12 students. That means less waiting around to receive help during lab, more time spent discussing relevant problem domains, and more direct contact with the instructor. For many students it's very important to be able to discuss their specific action plan and opportunities on the job to apply what they're learning. That's just not possible if there are 20 to 30 people in a public class.

Open Evaluation

In order to ensure that the courses was carried out to the maximum satisfaction, the participants will evaluate the training on the first day. All shortcomings will be proactively rectified. Customer Satisfaction is a very key indicator to our training quality. We will conduct an open assessment at the end of the session to ensure that the participants has fully comprehend and able to perform their duties upon return to their workplace.
